Our client wanted to create an intimate outdoor room leading out from their kitchen with an overhead structure that would provide privacy from the neighbouring two-storied house. Their love of a clean, simple Japanese design aesthetic became a focus of our brief.
The wire ‘windows’ reflect the window and door layout on the opposing house façade.
The Goom team prepared and presented scaled, geolocated 3D studies to study the structure and shade. We wanted to make sure that the shade wouldn’t be cast too far into the house. This modelling helped to finalise how far the pavilion roof extended as well as the final form.
